Mt. Zion Baptist Church
Mid-Year Staff Advance
Tuesday, May 12, 2026
My name is Sheldon J. Andrus III, founder of Andrus Advisory, where we help growing organizations find clarity, structure, and real systems.
But before any of that, I was a kid at Greater St. Stephen Full Gospel Baptist Church under Bishop Paul S. Morton — the founder of the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship that Bishop Walker now helms. Standing in this house today is a full-circle moment I don't take lightly.
For fifteen-plus years, I've walked alongside leaders in higher education, nonprofits, and multi-site ministry — including churches that grew from 2,000 to 15,000+.
To Bishop Joseph and Dr. Stephanie Walker — thank you. Mt. Zion is a house whose influence reaches far beyond these walls, shaping the trajectory of hundreds of churches by modeling discipleship, leadership, and ministry excellence at their very best. To be welcomed here is a profound honor.
Healthy organizations are built on purpose, not by accident — and that's what I'm here to talk about today.
hello

Session #1
The Criticality of Culture
Culture isn't soft. It's the operating system every healthy organization runs on. Inside: the C.P.S. framework, the four components of culture, five truths every leader must own, and why mature leaders choose united over right.
Session #2
The Development Flywheel
People aren't the tools to accomplish the mission. People ARE the mission. This guide unpacks the six-step Development Flywheel — invite, paint, identify, shape, release, push — and the shift every leader must make from doing to developing. Discipleship as a wheel, not a ladder.

128 churches. 96% had the same hidden flaw—and once you see it, you can’t unsee it. It’s why people come… and never come back.
